Deborah Livesay focuses her practice in the areas of labor and employment and insurance coverage disputes. In addition to litigating insurance coverage matters, Ms. Livesay routinely handles employment-related litigation matters in various jurisdictions across the country, including litigation involving discrimination, wage complaints, breach of employment contracts, ERISA, and state tort claims.

Ms. Livesay represents a wide range of corporate clients in matters before federal, state and local government agencies and arbitration tribunals and advises clients concerning employment policy design and review.

In the area of general client advice, Ms. Livesay’s experience includes employment discrimination, drug and alcohol issues and policies, wage and hour compliance, Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, unemployment compensation, severance agreements, and restrictive covenants. Ms. Livesay also assists clients with conducting internal investigations into allegations of harassment and discrimination involving management and senior personnel and counsels clients on handling reductions-in-force.

Prior to joining Taylor English, Ms. Livesay practiced law at Powell Goldstein, LLP, one of Atlanta’s oldest and largest firms, from 1998 through 2006. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Livesay was involved in private business enterprises for fifteen years.

Ms. Livesay was a contributing author on the Employment Law chapter for multiple editions of Employee Benefits in Mergers and Acquisitions (Aspen Publishers), Author: Ilene Ferenczy. Ms. Livesay also was the co-author of “A Primer in Employment Law - What Every Business Owner Should Know,” Catalyst, July 2002, Co-Author: Eric P. Berezin.
